China, Nigeria To Harness Cultural Talents Toward Deepening Diplomatic Relations

Ambassador of China to Nigeria Cui Jianchun has emphasized the importance of both countries capitalizing on their respective cultural strengths in order to strengthen the diplomatic ties that exist between the two nations.

This was said by Cui at a briefing for journalists that took place on Saturday in Abuja against the backdrop of a performance by the China National Traditional Orchestra (CNTO) and the Nigeria Arts Troupe.

The concert, which was organized by the China National Traditional Orchestra (CNTO), a national music performance organization directly under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China, focussed on shared Chinese harmony and Nigeria-China symphony.

Cui stated that "The event is about harmony and symphony; I hope that China and Nigeria can deepen their ties through the two musicians and artistes." The event was held in Nigeria.

"I believe that it is high time that China and Nigeria walked together; we can nurture diplomatic relations and economic cooperation, and we also love to build people-to-people communication. " "I think it is high time that China and Nigeria walked together.

We are working to strengthen the political trust between our two nations; but, the most crucial question is how we can increase the amount of bilateral interactions. We are of the opinion that it is high time for us to cooperate closely with one another;

"Nigeria as a country is a big giant, and in order to build this great country, we need people who are talented, skilled, and knowledgeable in a variety of fields."

The envoy lauded the young Nigerians who had studied in China and then returned to their home country, stating that according to traditional Chinese thought, young people who have gained international experience have a responsibility to serve the interests of the nation in which they were educated.

He explained that as of the month of June 2023, sixty-five Nigerian students who had graduated from institutions in China had returned home and were now working for the China Civil Engineering Construction Company (CCECC) as well as other organizations.

In a separate interview that took place at the event, Mrs. Caroline Adepoju, the acting Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), praised the Nigeria-China symphony for being appropriate in terms of furthering the relations between Nigeria and China.

This is a wonderful development, as the entertainment business is highly important to the growth of any economy, and this is an improvement that is very much appreciated.

"Such an event occurring in the future is something that we eagerly anticipate. Anything that bridges cultures and acts as a conduit for the sharing of information, innovations, and forms of entertainment is a positive development.

"When we are able to bring people from other parts of the world and show them how Nigeria is advantageous in many ways, we will know that we have succeeded."

She stated, "We have a great population, climate, and even economy to support all of these; all we need to do is ensure that we sell our culture and make people to be conscious." "We have great population, climate, and even economy to support all of these."

She noted that there is a need to generate appropriate awareness on Nigeria-China cross-cultural exchanges and added that NIS would assist all sorts of development project in Nigeria.
