10th NASS: Senate President Has Not Been Zoned, No Zoning Template — Izunaso

Senator-elect Osita Izunaso of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state of Imo West has stated that the ruling party has not zoned the positions for the Presiding offices in both the Senate and the House of Representatives. Rather, according to Senator-elect Izunaso, the party just

Izunaso, who claimed that he would be the President of the Senate in the 10th National Assembly, emphasized that of all the candidates fighting for the third position in the country, none has the legislative experience that compares to what he has gained over the years. In addition, Izunaso stated that he would be the President of the Senate in the 10th National Assembly.

Senator Izunaso, who paid radiant tributes to the Journalism profession where he formed his nitch, spoke with Journalists yesterday in Abuja after his visit to the National Secretariat of the Nigeria Union. of Journalists, NUJ. Senator Izunaso said that whatever he has made today, the profession prepared him, it exposed him, and it gave him the knowledge and experience. He did this while speaking with Journalists.
The Senator-elect was accompanied by Senators-elect Monday Okpebholo, APC, Edo Central and Benson Konbowei, PDP, Bayelsa Central, and they were welcomed by the National President of NUJ, Chris Ikechukwu Isiguzo, as well as the NUJ National Secretary, Shuaibu Usman Leman, amongst other individuals.

Izunaso, who noted that the country was not at its best at this point in time, however, vowed to revamp the National Assembly as the President of the Senate in light of the fact that Nigerians are looking up to the 10th Senate to provide the required hope and solace for the people, just as he promised that Nigerians should have their hope assured. Speaking further, Izunaso noted that the country was not at its best at this point in time.

According to him, if he were to become President of the Senate, he would create a comprehensive legislative agenda that would cover a variety of issues, including but not limited to: the need for national unity in order to have good and effective administration; the protection of lives and property; the problem of unemployment; the state of the economy; and other similar concerns.

Remember, too, that the All Progressives Congress (APC) was the party that made the announcement supporting Senator Godswill Akpabio and three other candidates for the highest posts in the National Assembly. A vote of confidence was cast for Senator Akpabio of the South-South to become President of the Senate, Senator Jibrin Barau of the North-west to become Deputy Senate President, the Honorable Tajudeen Abass of the North-west to become Speaker of the House of Representatives, and Hon. Kanu of the South-East to become Deputy Speaker.

Protests, condemnations, and harsh comments were voiced all throughout the country in response to the decision, which did not sit well with some members of the party, particularly those who aspired to hold the post of Presiding Officers in both the Senate and the House of Representatives. As a result, the move was met with widespread opposition.

As a consequence of this, the Senate Whip and former Governor of Abia State, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, as well as the former Governor of Zamfara State, Abdulaziz Yari, and Osita Izunaso, among others, have continuously kicked against the decision of the party, and they have pledged to contest against the Akpabio/Jibrin ticket on Inauguration Day.
When questioned regarding zoning, the candidate for the presidency of the Senate responded, "Don't make the mistake; the party has not chosen anybody; when the party chooses, you will know." The party has expressed a desire for additional and improved discussions, and we have just been informed that we have been invited to a meeting the next day. We are meeting.

"No, it has not been zoned, and there is no zoning template," the response was. The party was merely advising you, but you should know better. Have you not been seeing that a lot of people are going to see the National Chairman? Where has he been employed previously? Even when they addressed somebody in his office with the title of Speaker, he corrected them and declared that they were not the Speaker. You witnessed what happened. Have you not been keeping up with what's been going on? There is currently no zoning in place."

Izu responded when asked about his affiliation with Abdulazeez Yari, the former Governor of Zamfara State, with the President and the Vice President being Muslims, and who will be the President of the Senate by saying,

"By the favor and provision of Almighty God, I will succeed you as President of the Senate. That does not mean that we are not talking to other individuals; in fact, we are talking to Abdulazeez Yari and consulting with other candidates for the election; nevertheless, I can tell you that at the end of the day, I will be the next Senate President by the grace of God. I am Osita Izunaso.

"None of the other candidates has the same level of experience as I do in the legislature. Before I was elected to the House of Representatives, I served as the Chief Press Secretary for one of the Presidents of the Senate. In 2007, I won a seat in the Senate election. Therefore, I have a solid foundation in statutory matters, and I have the necessary experience.Renaming the National Assembly is something else that needs to be done. Since 1999, it has maintained a reputation for being unreliable. When you bring about our legislators, Nigerians will bring up Constituency, and when they do so, they would regard it as a big amount of money being tossed to MPs. That is not the case at all. These funds are distributed to the various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies, sometimes known as MDAS. The stories are not accurate in any regard, including with regard to the enormous pay.

"How can we change our brand? Because of this, the motto of my campaign is "hope assured." There is only one strategic limb that relies solely on itself. In contrast to the Executive, none of the CJNs do that. In the presence of the Clerk to the National Assembly, the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House take their respective oaths. They are the epitome of true independence.

Legislative priorities include promoting national unity and integration; putting the needs of the country ahead of political considerations. The second reason is that it is for security, because in the area where I'm from, people don't go out on Mondays. The third factor is the unrest among young people. Why are they acting so agitated? Unemployment is another issue that needs our attention.

You may rest comfortable that the Senate, which I lead, will work closely with the executive branch. When legislators work together on a project, this should not be interpreted as a sign that they are subordinating themselves.
In his remarks, the National President of the NUJ, Isiguzo, commended the aspirant for associating with his first professional calling, acknowledged his experience, integrity, and integrity he has garnered over the years, but assured Senator Izunaso that the NUJ and its are supporting his aspiration and prepared every assistance to ensure that he becomes the Senate President. Isiguzo also acknowledged the experience, integrity, and integrity he has garnered over the years.

Isiguzo, who characterized Senator Izunaso as the best among all of the Senators contending for the post, stated that after doing an extensive examination of all of the candidates, the Senator-elect for Imo West was found to be the finest in terms of competence, experience, capacity, and integrity. Isiguzo made this declaration after describing Senator Izunaso as the best among all of the Senators vying for the job.

The President of the NUJ emphasized the importance of integrity while noting that what the National Assembly needed at this time was a clean break from its disgraceful history, which was notorious for corruption and had a negative reputation.

According to him, Senator Izunaso is an exceptional journalist, a great lawyer, and a man of integrity and high capacity who would rebrand the National Assembly and give the Legislature and the country a better image. In addition, he believes that Senator Izunaso would offer the country a more positive image.

After calling on all of the senators-elect to do the honorable thing and vote for Senator Izunaso as the President of the Senate, the National President of the NUJ stated that for journalists, the Senator would fully enjoy the total support of the men of the pen while he is seeking the position now and when he becomes the Senate president. This statement was made in response to the call made by the NUJ National President.
