West Ham and Newcastle targetting move for Man United star who has told friends he wants to leave

West Ham and Newcastle are monitoring the situation with Manchester United's Scott McTominay, who is reportedly one among the players who may depart Old Trafford this summer.

The Scotland international has a contract with the Manchester club until 2025, but Football Insider reports that the 26-year-old wants to depart this summer after seeing his Premier League playing time cut in half from previous season.

McTominay is at the peak of his abilities and should be getting more playing time. The midfielder has the talent to be a starter for a side in the lower half of the Premier League, but he has only made four starts since September.

If McTominay stays at Old Trafford this summer, Erik ten Hag is rumored to want to bring in another midfielder, which might decrease McTominay's playing time even further next season.

According to the source, a number of teams are keeping eyes on the United star's condition. The Hammers need to find a replacement for the departing Declan Rice, while Newcastle want to bolster their squad in preparation for their return to the Champions League next season.
