ERIK TEN HAG CONFIRMS MARCUS RASHFORD WANTS TO STAY AT MANCHESTER UNITED

Marcus Rashford reportedly wants to remain at Manchester United, according to Erik ten Hag.

The manager was questioned about the alleged breakdown in contract negotiations with United's number 10 during today's pregame news conference (via the club's official website).

"Yes, I am aware [of the reason], but I do not discuss the method. "Just let it happen," he pleaded.

Again, neither this nor Rashy care about it right now. Since he and the squad are both having great seasons, his ambition now is to score more goals. We need to qualify for the Champions League and then shift our attention there.

We want Marcus to remain, and he wants to stay, so I have faith that we can find each other, as Ten Hag put it.

The question of Dean Henderson's future with the club was also posed to him. After complaining that previous manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had lied to him about becoming the starting goalkeeper, the 26-year-old has spent the entire season on loan at Nottingham Forest.

Ten Hag said, "Same response. Not at all what I'm concentrating on. Employment searches, scouting opportunities, trades,... I focused entirely on the next contests.

This is a pivotal week, so that's what we're concentrating on. The season finale has arrived.

Ten Hag was also questioned on the specifics of United's poor away form ahead of tomorrow's meeting, which will be the team's final away game of the season.

I believe there are some justifiable explanations," he said.

For instance, "one thing has to be clear, from the back we have to be better on the ball," as I see it.

Ten Hag stated in answer to a query on Jadon Sancho's performance:

But I do think he's making progress. His efforts versus Wolves and Spurs were notable for their quality. He's doing OK, I guess. So right now, he has a solid foundation upon which to build, and he should aim to continue growing.

The manager was also questioned about the takeover process and how it has impacted his transfer strategies.

Naturally, we go about our business unseen. But if we can talk about it or provide anything substantial, we will do it right away. But we're busy making things happen behind the scenes. But right now, we have to worry about the games, qualifying for the Champions League, and the FA Cup final.

"I'm not sure. It's all about the money for me. That adequate resources exist to enable desirable actions to be taken. But first, we must finish in the top four and qualify for the Champions League. For the time being, that is where our attention lies.
