Another Lawyer Confirms Nnamdi Kanu Declared End To Sit-At-Home In South-East

Ifeanyi Ejimofor, the attorney for Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has stated that Kanu has actually proclaimed an end to the contentious sit-at-home in the South-east region of the country. This information was provided by Ifeanyi Ejiofor.

PREMIUM TIMES previously reported that Aloy Ejimakor, special counsel to Mr. Kanu, claimed that the IPOB commander instructed pro-Biafran agitator, Simon Ekpa, to stop issuing sit-at-home orders in the region.

On Friday, Mr. Ejimakor posted copies of Mr. Kanu's handwritten letter to Mr. Ekpa on his verified Twitter handle. He also instructed Mr. Ekpa to quit antagonizing governors and other political leaders in the region.  Mr. Ekpa, who is based in Finland, has been proclaiming sit-at-home in the region. He stated that the primary purpose of this action was to demand the release of the IPOB leader.

After Mr. Ejimakor made the letter from Mr. Kanu public, Mr. Ekpa referred to it as "fake," stating that it was authored by authorities of the State Security Service (SSS) and not the head of the IPOB. He referred to it as "joke" and "insult" to say that the letter was written by Mr. Kanu. "As the Prime Minister of Biafra under the leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, am calling on all Biafrans to disregard the fake letter purporting to come from the SSS. am doing this under the leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu."

Mr. Ekpa stated on his verified Twitter profile on Friday night that they are unable to receive any orders from the Islamic SSS, and that this decision is final. It is imperative that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu be given his freedom, and he should deliver speech to the people of Biafra from Finland. "That is the condition of the prime minister of Biafra and the Biafra Republican Government in Exile," he declared. "The Biafran government is in exile."

On the other hand, Mr. Ejimofor indicated once again in a statement that he issued on saturday that the ipob leader commanded that the   sit-at-home in the region "must be stopped." “To this end, we urge all Ezigbo Umu Chineke and, indeed, the members of the public to respect and carry out the wishes of Onyendu and, accordingly, desist from any further engagement with those whose primary intention is to ensure that Onyendu is kept in perpetual captivity, and consequently, destroy the entire South-east through unauthorised sit-at-home and its enforcement,” he said.

The attorney stated that those who were tasked with enforcing the order in the region had "failed woefully" and added that those responsible for their acts would be brought to justice in the very near future. Mr. Kanu is also referred to by the name "Onyendu" in some circles. This phrase comes from the Igbo language and it literally translates to "The Leader." The phrase "Ezigbo Umu Chineke" is frequently used to refer to the Igbo people in the South-east and in some areas of the South-south of Nigeria. The phrase literally translates to "good children of God. "Mr. Ejimofor also made the announcement that Nnamdi Kanu has at last  been examined by physician at hospital in Abuja.  "...We are pleased to inform you that Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu met with his choice personal physician yesterday (Friday) in hospital in Abuja, outside of the facility of the State Security Service (SSS)," he added. "The medical examination went off without hitch and produced fruitful results; he (Kanu) will be moving on
