Drama In Court As Senior Attorney Interrupts LP Proceedings

There was some confusion in court on Friday when a Senior Advocate of Nigeria who is not a member of the Labour Party's legal team made a courtroom appearance for the party.

The panel of Justices who refused him recognition chastised the senior advocate who failed to disclose his name for seeking to cause uncertainty, saying that "He should know better" after his explanation that "He was given a brief to appear."However, while the subject was being called and before the incident, the LP's presidential candidate, Peter Obi, made an appearance for himself and the Labour Party.
It should be noted that sections of the Labour Party battled in court on Wednesday following the appearance of the Lamidi-Apapa-led group.
Pandemonium arose at the Presidential Election Petition Court amid the Labour Party's hotly contested national leadership election.
Remember that the Federal High Court in Abuja suspended Julius Abure as the LP's National Chairman.

The court barred him as well as four others from posing as national officers of the party in connection with the suspected fabrication of documents, including court records.

Upon this, Lamidi Apapa took over as acting chairman, but the party has been in turmoil since then.
The various sections of the party went into a war of words just before the court took place on Wednesday for the resumed proceedings in the pre-hearing of the petition lodged by the LP and its presidential candidate against the president-elect, Bola Tinubu.
The Apapa-led Labour Party  group questioned why members of the party loyalty lies with Abure were in court.

They claimed that the order of the FCT High Court suspending the Abure-led group remained in effect.

When the case was summoned, the PEP court denied acknowledgment to all sections and their representatives save the 1st Petitioner, Obi, who was present in court.
