Lionel Messi asks to DELAY Al-Hilal move until 2024 as he angles for Barcelona return

According to GOAL's sources, Lionel Messi has urged Saudi club Al-Hilal to postpone his move there until 2024, fueling rumors of a return to Barcelona.

According to GOAL sources, on Monday, the Argentine's agents met with a Saudi official and asked that the country delay the player's scheduled move to the Pro League until 2024.

The Saudi agents have informed Messi that next year's offer would be different from the €500 million ($541 million) per year (£435 million) agreement that is now on the table.

Just hours before Messi made his choice, his father had said that he wanted to return to Barcelona, and La Liga had approved the Blaugrana's so-called financial viability plan to bring the club legend back.
