JOAN LAPORTA REAFFIRMS PLANS TO BRING BACK LIONEL MESSI TO BARCELONA

The president of Barcelona, Joan Laporta, said that the club's top priority this summer is for Lionel Messi to come back.

The Argentine player who won the World Cup is set to leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season, and there is a lot of talk about what will happen next with him.

There has been talk of going back to Camp Nou, but different things have been said about the chance.

The Catalan giants are at odds with La Liga over FFP, and it is said that this is stopping them from re-signing Messi.

The head of Spain's top league, Javier Tebas, has said many times that he supports Messi's return, but only if Barca cuts their wage bill and complies with the league's FFP rules.

On the other hand, there have been more and more rumors lately that Saudi Arabia could be his next stop.

But Laporta has made sure that there are still plans to bring back the Argentine great.

Laporta said (via Fabrizio Romano), after Barca beat Espanyol last night and clinched the La Liga title, "We will do everything we can to bring Leo Messi back to Barcelona."

Barcelona fans could also be seen shouting Messi's name after they won La Liga. They did this to show that they want their famous star to play for Barca next season.

Messi's return to Barca this summer is also backed by Barca vice president Rafa Yuste.

"He is a very good friend of a lot of guys who are here today to celebrate La Liga... He must be so happy!

"I would love Messi to come back," Yuste told Carrusel Deportivo (h/t Fabrizio Romano).

Messi's team has laughed off rumors that he has made a crazy deal to play in the Saudi Pro League.

If the 36-year-old comes back to Camp Nou, it will depend on how much money Barca can make by selling players this summer.

Some of the players who could be cut are Raphinha, Ferran Torres, Franck Kessie, and Ansu Fati.

Messi has the backing of his teammates and Barca's top leaders to go back to Camp Nou.
