Korea End Flying Eagles U-20 World Cup Dream.

According to PUNCH Sports Extra, the Flying Eagles' run to become the first team in the United States to win the Under-20 World Cup came to an end on Sunday in the quarterfinals when they were defeated by South Korea by a score of 1-0 in Santiago Del Estero.

Choi Seok-hyeon's goal in extra time proved to be the game-winner, thereby defeating the flying eagles and as a result, the Asians advanced to the semi-finals of the U-20 World Cup in Argentina, where they will meet Italy, the winners of Europe.

Samson Lawal was replaced by Victor Eletu in the team that overcame Argentina on their own turf on Wednesday. Victor Eletu was the one who assisted on the second goal scored against the South Americans four days earlier. Ladan Bosso made one change to the squad that won.

The first two minutes of the game saw Nigeria having the better of the play and coming close to scoring the game's first goal.
After dribbling past two of his opponents, Daniel Bameyi made a great cross into the Korean penalty area. However, the ball, which was meant for Ibrahim Muhammad, was stopped by the Asians and then cleared into safety after furious defending on their part.

Abel Ogwueche came close to breaking the tie for Bosso's team in the eighth minute as they continued to exert their authority over the game.

Ogwueche's header found its way into the clutches of the goalie, Kim Jun-hong, after being set up by a Tochukwu Nnadi corner kick that was executed with skill.

The Flying Eagles kept their dominant streak going and were able to keep the Red Devils, who were quick and skilled, in check.
Bae Jun-ho was substituted for Kang Seong-jin at the beginning of the second half by head coach Kim Eun-jung, who felt that the addition of Bae Jun-ho would provide an additional offensive threat.

Despite the early substitution made by the coach, the Nigerians continued to be the team that appeared to have the best chance of scoring. The team's captain, Bameyi, forced Jun-hong to make a spectacular stop with a ferocious long-range shot, but the goalkeeper stood up to the challenge and kept the score even.

After the first hour of play, South Korea started to seem more dangerous and had their first shot of the game. Lee Seung-joon's curler beat Kingsley Aniagboso, who was playing goal for Nigeria, but it just missed the target by a hair's breadth. South Korea's second effort of the match was a header that was blocked by Nigeria's Kingsley Aniagboso.

As a direct response, Bosso made two swift substitutions, namely Umeh Emmanuel for Fago Lawal and Kehinde Ibrahim for Muhammad. Fago Lawal and Muhammad had been Bosso's original players.

After regaining the ball from Park Hyun-bin on the edge of the box in the 86th minute, Bameyi had the opportunity to give Nigeria the late winner, but he pulled his effort just wide as the game headed into extra time. This caused the game to go into extra time.

Choi Seok-hyeon's header off of Lee Young-jun's corner kick gave South Korea their first shot on target in the match, giving them the lead just four minutes into extra time. This was South Korea's first shot on target in the match.

After there were only ten minutes remaining on the clock, Emmanuel had a golden opportunity to give Nigeria an equalizer, but he squandered it by volleying his shot from within the box way up and over the goalposts.

South Korea has earned a position in the semifinals and will play Italy on Thursday. They maintained their razor-thin lead throughout the process, which allowed them to advance.
