Fasting Is Far Better Than Dieting, Here Is My View On It

I am not saying this because I'm a religious person. Fasting has been shown to be superior to dieting in numerous studies. We've all heard about the benefits of fasting, but in this blog, I'll offer some that I've directly experienced.

Not to imply that dieting is bad, but when fasting offers so many advantages, why don't we try it? Fasting is the finest approach for us Muslims to take care of ourselves. Fasting is beneficial to our bodies, minds, and spirits. Keeping fast should primarily be for the sake of pleasing or impressing Almighty; other benefits can be considered a bonus.

Our fasting approach is also considered the greatest for our health, mind, and spirit by non-Muslims. Because I've personally experienced the benefits of fasting, I'm a believer. I've been a fan of fasting since I was a child. I began doing it when I was six years old, thanks to my parents' encouragement during Ramadan.

What exactly is fasting?

Fasting is defined as abstaining from all or part of one's meals and drink for a set period of time. Despite its popularity in today's diet world, fasting has been used for millennia and is considered one of medicine's oldest remedies. It is an important aspect of cultural and religious activities, with all major religions participating in some way.

Many think that going without food for long periods of time is something we have evolved to do, whether it is complete abstinence from food and drink or a lighter, lower-calorie type of eating.

top health advantages of Fasting

1. Assists in the control of blood sugar levels

Several studies back fasting as a way to improve blood sugar control and maybe reduce diabetes risk, while gender may play a role and more research is needed.

2. It might help you lose weight.

Fasting has become popular among dieters as a convenient way to lose weight. Controlling when we eat or fasting for a brief period of time has been shown in studies to help with weight loss, fat loss, and blood lipids. Fasting has also been demonstrated in previous research to improve the ability of overweight persons to switch their metabolism to fat burning, preserve muscle mass, and improve body composition.

Because we are so focused on our careers these days, getting fat or overweight is very common. Long periods of sitting in a chair or in front of an electronic device cause body fat. We don't have time for a stroll, gym, yoga, or any other form of exercise, and we forget to breathe deeply and drink plenty of water. As a result, we look forward to obesity and unanticipated disease. Diet programs don't always work for us because our bodies aren't the same as others'. Diets do not ensure weight loss or the repair of body parts.

Fasting benefits all of our body's organs. It assists us in maintaining a healthy body and mind. This can be regarded as Almighty Allah's blessing. Ramadan will be here shortly, and we will be able to observe fasting. Many people believe that if they don't eat for a few hours, they would become weak, which is completely false. Many overly cautious parents do not encourage their children to fast during exam season, which is incorrect.

According to my personal experience, I've attended my tests when I was maintained on a strict schedule and felt incredibly energized. I took the bus and was sweating profusely due to the hot weather, but I was not thirsty for water. It's really a blessing the Almighty provided me with enough stamina to continue my fast.

This would be different for patients in hospitals or at home. Fasting provides me with a sense of fulfillment that I've had for several years. This year's Ramadan Month, I'd like to fast once more. We can fast twice a week, as our prophet did. Though I don't fast on a regular basis, I do strive to do so following the religious month of Ramadan. Instead of dieting, people who want to be healthy and happy should consider fasting.
