On Sunday, Spurs host rivals Chelsea in a London rivalry, giving them an opportunity to strengthen their grip on fourth position in the Premier League standings.

The most recent match featured a 2-0 victory for the Lilywhites over West Ham United and a 1-0 loss for the Blues at home to Southampton.
Despite Antonio Conte's inability to guide against Chelsea while recovering from gallbladder surgery, interim manager Cristian Stellini is still undefeated after a 3-0 win against West Ham last weekend.
Tottenham and Chelsea can relate to West Ham avoiding yet another contentious handling penalty claim in the first 45 minutes, but 'Second Half FC' shone through with goals from Emerson Royal and Son Heung-min, propelling Spurs into the Champions League qualification places.

Tottenham have a great chance to move ahead of fifth-placed Newcastle United and close the distance to third-placed Manchester United, who will have a game in hand after this weekend's London derby, by beating them in this weekend's London derby.

It's impossible to know which Tottenham team will show up on any given weekend, but the Lilywhites are currently on the verge of becoming the first team in the Premier League to win three consecutive home games with clean sheets since 2019 and the first team in the league to not lose at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium since December 2021.

Having been at the center of an acrimonious exchange with Thomas Tuchel during the August 1st stalemate at Stamford Bridge, Conte will be keeping a close eye on the weekend's action from his Italian base, but the German's successor is succumbing to the poisoned chalice.

After last weekend's dismal 1-0 defeat to cellar side Southampton, calls from some parts of the Chelsea fans to dismiss Graham Potter have grown stronger, but the Blues management continues to have confidence in the under-fire Englishman.

Just days after firing their boss, Southampton beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge thanks to a signature free kick from James Ward-Prowse, drawing groans from the home audience that could be heard across the city.

Chelsea is currently in 10th position after losing four consecutive Premier League games, 11 points behind their next opponents. Despite this, it has been claimed that Todd Boehly is still supporting Potter, despite the fact that some members of the board do not share his opinion.

But the Englishman has only three victories in his last 16 games in command of the Blues, who will not move up the standings no matter what happens this weekend, and who have scored just three goals in their last nine matches across all competitions, which is intolerable for a team of Chelsea's caliber.

The guests' recent road record is also extremely discouraging; they haven't won any of their last nine away games since defeating Red Bull Salzburg in October. However, Chelsea's undefeated run against Tottenham was expanded to six games after a heated 2-2 stalemate at Stamford Bridge in August.
