Reece James: Chelsea and England defender will miss World Cup in Qatar due to injury.

Reece James went off injured against AC Milan in the Champions League

After speaking with Chelsea defender Reece James on Tuesday, Gareth Southgate decided not to include him in the 26-man team he will reveal on Thursday at 2 p.m. EST because James has not fully healed from the knee injury he had last month while playing for Chelsea against AC Milan.
Due to injuries, Reece James will not be able to participate in the World Cup in Qatar.

It was decided Tuesday after consulting with Gareth Southgate that the Chelsea fullback still hasn't recovered enough from the knee injury he sustained against AC Milan last month.
James travelled to Dubai to engage in a rigorous rehabilitation program in an effort to be fit for Qatar, and he has reportedly begun running on the Cobham training ground at Chelsea.
Southgate had to make the difficult decision to tell James that he would not be included in his 26-man squad that will be announced on Thursday due to injury concerns involving another key England right defender, Kyle Walker, and midfielder Kalvin Phillips.

According to Sky Sports News, those close to James, 22, say he and his family are heartbroken to miss out, but they respect the England manager's decision.
