Police release six of Davido's staff hold Nanny and cook

The three-year-old was found underwater in his father's Banana Island, Lagos swimming pool after allegedly drowning.

The young child, who was just three years old at the time, is said to have drowned in the swimming pool that belonged to his father in Banana Island, Lagos. He remained submerged for an undetermined amount of time until he was found. While the death investigation of Ifeanyi Adeleke, son of the popular artist Davido, is still underway, the police in Lagos have freed six of the arrested suspects and are holding two of them.

Early accounts indicate that the child, who was three years old at the time, allegedly drowned in his father's swimming pool in Banana Island, Lagos, and remained submerged for an undetermined amount of time until he was found.


As a result of the terrible event, on Tuesday the police detained eight members of the singer's household staff for the purpose of interrogation. Among those held were the late Ifeanyi's nanny and cook.

According to the sources within the police department, they were not formally detained but were questioned over the allegation of criminal negligence.
The officer reported that six of the eight people who were arrested in connection with the case have already been freed, while the other two are still being held by the police.


According to him, the two individuals are assisting the police in their investigation by providing additional information.

The two individuals in question are his cook and nanny.
He explained that "this is an ongoing inquiry, therefore I can't say much about the matter at this time." Nevertheless, I am able to inform you that we have released six suspects and are still hanging on to two; the nanny and one other individual.
He claimed that they were the only ones who had seen him since his last appearance. He added that an autopsy will be performed as the following stage in the inquiry into the death.


"After that, we will ascertain the cause of death by doing an autopsy on the body. This would be of additional assistance to us in our investigation," he said.
Friends and admirers of the musician and his fiancee, Chioma Rowland, commonly known as Chef Chi, were stunned when the news of the late Ifeanyi's death surfaced on Monday night.


Davido and Chef Chi have not been seen on any social media platforms as of yet while they cope with the devastating event.
