“An ambitious guy” – Fabrizio Romano responds to Erling Haaland’s father’s possible transfer hint

Following Erling Haaland's fantastic performance for Manchester City as they hammered rivals Manchester United 6-3 yesterday, Fabrizio Romano has remarked on the recent potential transfer suggestion from the Norwegian striker's father.

Haaland had a remarkable first Manchester Derby, scoring a hat-trick to give City a critical three points and the opportunity to beat their neighbors for bragging rights.

Haaland has had an outstanding start to his career at City, scoring 17 goals in his first 11 appearances for Pep Guardiola's team, 14 of which came in only eight Premier League games.

How long will Haaland be playing at the Etihad Stadium, though? By implying that he has future intentions to play in leagues like La Liga and Serie A, his father Alf-Inge Haaland may have at least some of his son's career planned out.

Alf-Inge, who previously played for City, said on the documentary "Haaland: The Big Decision," as reported by the Daily Star: "I think Erling wants to prove his ability in all levels. After that, he may only remain at Manchester City for a maximum of three or four years.

He may spend, for instance, 2.5 years in Germany, 2.5 years in England, and then 2.5 years in Spain, Italy, or France, am I correct?

Nevertheless, Haaland is now quite satisfied with the City project and with life under Guardiola, according to Romano, writing in his exclusive column.

However, he adds that Haaland is an ambitious player, so this situation may still be open to some degree.
