THE CATHOLIC CHURCH

The Catholic Church, is the largest Christian church in the world also known as the Roman Catholic Church, with 1.3 billion baptised Catholics all over the world.

PEOPLE LEAVE THE CATHOLIC CHURCH BECAUSE OF SCANDALS AND PERSECUTION!

The Catholic Church, is the largest Christian church in the world also known as the Roman Catholic Church, with 1.3 billion baptised Catholics all over the world.

The Catholic Church like other church have history and things that they do not want to see the light of day but leaving the church because of the past, has always been something that I have failed to understand.

Some people mostly criticize the catholic church teachings and the rule and regulations guiding them, this rule have been set years ago before most of us were born by the first leaders of the church and have guided the church through thick and thin. If u say you believe in God you must also believe in his Church.

Some people may want to push the Church back and say, “I just want to be spiritual,” is that they look at the church and they see it's messy. They see sinners in the Church, they see the scandal in the Church, and that's been there throughout the centuries.

Why would I want to join a church that's full of and a lot of sinners!?

Yes! It's always been full of sinners! Jesus chose sinners to be the apostles. The Church has always been messy. It's always been a bit of a scandal.

All the Twelve Apostles, except for John, abandoned Jesus; they ran away.

Peter denied him three times. Peter the impulsive, cowardly apostle is called by Jesus, “Rock.” He chooses the least reliable one to be the foundation of the whole Church. As we all know Peter is the founder of the father of the Roman Catholic Church as he was the church first pope, and God said to him you are Peter and on this Rock I will build my church, and so it was the beginning of the church as we all know.

Judas betrays him to his death. The church has always had sinners in it, starting with me. And I like to point out to every people:

"Well, aren't you, too, a Sinner? Aren't you in need of the same source of strength?

The answer: Well, yes! If you're honest, there are areas of growth for all of us. But it would be a big mistake to leave Jesus and Peter because of Judas, cause in doing so you'll miss your blessing because of a little mistake or doubt.

So the question of the scandals of the church is real but it's secondary to – who is Jesus for you? He's asking you – “Who do I say that I am?” What's your answer? And if you must, make sure you stay strong in your faith and do not let other sway you away from his love.

The greatest advertisement for the Catholic Church is the Saints, and the worst advertisement of the church is Catholics who don't want to become Saints.

He's asking you to follow him, to follow him in his Church, even a church that may have many spots of imperfection, people in leadership, and people in weakness, but yet He promised to be with the Church.

He has promised to be with Peter, in those founding apostles, and their successors throughout the centuries.

It reminds me of something Jesus said to the apostles when He first was sending them out. He said, “Whoever receives you welcome you in his home, feed you and cloth you has receives me, and whoever rejects and offer you no food or drink neither those he offer you shelter has rejected me.” For whatsoever you do to the list of your brother that you do onto me.

Imagine if there was a Jew in the 1st century saying, “Hey, Jesus, I love you. I just want a personal relationship with you. I want to be spiritual with you, but I don't want your Church. I don't want Peter, he’s too rambunctious.”  for the church is you and tou are the church.

What would Jesus say?

He’d say, "to the extent you're rejecting Peter,  and my human instruments to bring salvation to the world, and the Gospel to the world  to the extent you reject them, you're rejecting me too."

We don't want to make that mistake today!

Catholics are called a lot of names: blasphemous, self-righteous, fake. But we’re still standing. Why?

Because you belong to the Church founded by Jesus, because we say the rosary, or is it because we have status in the church, or because we chose to start "in the name of the father and of the son and of the Holy spirit" Amen.

Peace be with you.
