Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann set to join Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr

Talks have reportedly taken place between the Saudi Pro League team Al-Nassr and the agents of Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann, who would join Cristiano Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia.

Foot Mercato reports that negotiations are on between Al-Nassr and Antoine Griezmann to bring him to Saudi Arabia. The ambitious club has not been deterred by the French international's release clause of €25 million (£21.4 million/$27.3 million). However, it may still be difficult to persuade the gamer to make the switch.

Cristiano Ronaldo, who has said that he thinks the Saudi Pro League may become one of the world's top five divisions over the next five years, would be thrilled by the prospect of Griezmann joining Al-Nassr.

Griezmann displayed his electrifying form for Atletico Madrid last season, netting 15 goals and dishing out 17 assists in La Liga. In spite of his huge salary, the report claims that the Spanish club would be willing to sell him since they need the money.

In recent transfer windows, the Saudi league has been aggressive in its pursuit of high-profile players, signing Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, N'Golo Kante, and Ruben Neves. Hakim Ziyech, Edouard Mendy, and Kalidou Koulibaly are all on the approach of finalizing deals away from Stamford Bridge, while Chelsea is also prepared to unload numerous players to the Middle East.

Griezmann's future in Saudi Arabia is unclear as Al-Nassr continues its summer efforts to bolster the squad. It's unclear if the idea will be enough to attract the French forward to start a new chapter of his career in the Middle East.
