Man Utd trio returns training ahead of final Premier League game

It’s been a disastrous campaign for Manchester United considering the expectations that came with that magical 5-1 win over Leeds in the Premier League curtain-raiser in August.

In light of the high hopes that were raised after Manchester United's incredible 5-1 victory against Leeds in the first game of the Premier League season in August, this season has been a complete and utter failure for the club.
The debut of Raphael Varane before to the start of that game was flawless, and around five goals and ninety minutes and a faultless performance afterwards, expectations were greater than they had ever been since Sir Alex Ferguson stepped down as manager in 2013.

Unfortunately, it didn't work out quite like that, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who had signed a new three-year contract just a month before, was fired in November, and Ralf Rangnick took over as interim manager. Ralf Rangnick took over as interim manager after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had just signed a new three-year contract.

Rangnick's short-term stay as manager has been detrimental, to say the least, with his team now sitting at 61 points for the season after a win against Crystal Palace this past weekend. This is United's lowest-ever point total in the history of the Premier League.

The German head coach has suffered in recent months due to a high number of absences, but he will have three regulars back this weekend and is hoping to conclude his career on a successful note.

As can be seen in the image to the right, Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford, and Luke Shaw have all returned to full training as part of the Manchester United squad's preparations for the match against Patrick Vieira's team.

Since the beginning of the year, Sancho has seen an improvement in his performance, but there are concerns over Rashford and Shaw since both of their current contracts have just one more year left on them.

However, they will both be aiming for a successful conclusion to the season, and new manager Erik ten Hag will be watching this week's match with a careful eye.
