50 Cent to produce movie series about Nigerian Internet fraudster Hushpuppi

The popular singer uploaded photographs of Hushpuppi with the luxurious cars he bought with scam earnings on Instagram on Wednesday.

Curtis James Jackson III, better known by his stage name 50 Cent, is an American rapper and producer who recently revealed that he will soon produce a movie series centred on the convicted Nigerian notorious internet fraudster Ramon Abass, also known as Hushpuppi. 50 Cent will star in the film series. The well-known musician made this information public on Wednesday on his Instagram page, where he also published images of Hushpuppi with the luxurious cars that he was able to purchase with the money he obtained via his fraud before he was arrested. "For my fraudsters I had do this one, Hushpuppy series coming soon!" claimed 50 Cent. I don't miss GLG, the Green Light Gang. #Bransoncognac #lecheminduroi #gunitfilmandtv."
This comes just 48 hours after Hushpuppi was found guilty of conspiring to launder tens of millions of dollars through internet frauds and sentenced to 11 years in prison by the United States District Court for the Central District of California.

The verdict brings an end to Hushpuppi's lengthy trial, which lasted for two years and four months, beginning with his arrest in June 2020 in the hotel where he was staying in Dubai. Hushpuppi, a known con artist from Nigeria, was taken into custody after being accused of scamming a large number of individuals and, in particular, for his role in a plan to cheat a Qatari businessman out of more than one million dollars.

In April 2021, Hushpuppi entered a guilty plea to one count of conspiracy to participate in money laundering. On July 3, 2020, Hushpuppi had been extradited to the United States to stand trial there.

Since his arrest and extradition to the United States, Hushpuppi has been held in federal custody while his trial has been going on for the past two years. On Monday, Justice Otis Wright II of the United States District Court for the Central District of California convicted Hushpuppi and sentenced him to 11 years and three months in federal prison. Hushpuppi has been held in federal custody since his arrest and extradition to the United States.

This is in spite of the fact that we have hired a leading Washington, D.C. John Iweanoge, a criminal defence attorney, was hired in September with the goal of preventing the 11-year sentence that had been recommended by the United States prosecutors.
