We're watching Twitter closely.

Following the acquisition of Twitter by a new owner, the Federal Government of Nigeria has stated that it is currently monitoring the actions taking place on the platform.

This was announced in the inaugural address that was given by Lai Mohammed, who is the Minister of Information and Culture. The event was the third installment of the "PMB Administration Scorecard 2015-2023" series.

The first episode of the series was released one month ago with the purpose of highlighting the accomplishments of the government under President Buhari.

The three hundred and third volume focused on Buhari's accomplishments in the field of aviation.

He stated that there are concerns regarding the future of the agreement between the Federal Government and Twitter in light of the recent change in ownership of the company.

Thursday, he addressed the media and stated, "Many have asked for our reaction following reports that there has been a spike in fake news, disinformation, and hate speech since the microblogging site changed ownership." "Many have asked for our reaction following reports that there has been a spike in fake news, disinformation, and hate speech."

"Many have even questioned us if there will be yet another ban in the near future. Permit me to state that this organization is keeping a careful eye on how things develop over at Twitter.

We have never intended to restrict free expression or prohibit the use of any social media site, nor have we ever done so. Absolutely not.

Everything that took place with Twitter is common knowledge at this point. Twitter has emerged as the preferred medium for those who seek to undermine the stability of Nigeria through the dissemination of fake news, disinformation, and hate speech.

"No nation will ever permit any social media platform to bring about the breakdown of law and order in their country." Certainly not the country of Nigeria. However, we have maintained a constructive engagement with the various social media sites, such as Facebook, Google (which is the owner of YouTube), and Twitter.

"We have no intention of ever again prohibiting the use of any social media platform." However, we will not stand idly by and allow any platform, regardless of its nature, to plunge our country into turmoil.
