Buhari meets King Charles III in London

The President of Nigeria is in the United Kingdom for a medical leave of absence.

President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria, who is currently on a state visit to the United Kingdom, met with King Charles III at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday. This is the first time that the Nigerian leader and the monarch have met since the monarch came to the throne after his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, passed away.
Since the funeral of the Queen occurred at the same time as the General Assembly of the United Nations, President Buhari was unable to attend, but Vice President Yemi Osinbajo attended in his place.

The President of Nigeria is now on a medical leave in the United Kingdom. According to Femi Adesina, who serves as his spokesman, he is planning to arrive back in the country the following week.

A number of photographs taken during the state visit and shared on Twitter show President Buhari extending his hand to the new monarch while they both smile broadly for the camera.
