Enugu APC candidate dies in car crash

A vehicle tragedy claimed the life of the APC candidate for the House of Representatives in Enugu.

Doctor Ejikeme Omeje, a candidate for the House of Representatives from the All Progressives Congress in the Nsukka/Igbo-Eze South Federal Constituency, has died.

Omeje, a top party candidate in the Enugu North Senatorial Zone, was killed in a car accident on Tuesday morning on the Eden Ani/Nsukka highway, not far from the El-Rina hotel in Nsukka.

One local APC member informed   that incident happened on the way back from a political meeting in the town of Edem-Ani. An APC stakeholder checked this data and confirmed its accuracy.

Reportedly, he was driving alone on the Nsukka section of the Erina-Edem Ani highway when he suddenly lost control and crashed into a tree.

He suffered terrible injuries and was rushed to the hospital right after the accident, but he passed tragically early on Tuesday morning.

Mr. Robert Ngwu, the State Secretary of the APC in Enugu State, also confirmed the incident and described it as disturbing.
