Bandits kill the governor's chief cook, causing unrest in President Buhari's home state.

The chef was abducted a few days ago while he was on his farm supervising the gathering of his produce when he was taken captive.

It has been a few days since terrorists killed Governor Aminu Masari's Chief Cook, Alhaji Lawal Kanbarawa, after collecting a ransom from him, and the state of Katsina, which is President Muhammadu Buhari's home state, is in a state of high stress as a result.

The chef was abducted a few days ago while he was on his farm supervising the gathering of his produce when he was taken captive. But the deceased's first son, Ahmed Lawal, confirmed his father's death when he spoke to journalists on Monday. He stated, "Our father was kidnapped on his farm along Katsina-Jibia international route leading to the Niger Republic."

"Baba was led to the farm by the caretaker of the farm when all of a sudden the bandits emerged and whisked him away in company with our brother who drove him to the farm. The bandits also took our brother with them."

After some time had passed, the bandits got in touch with the family and demanded the payment of a ransom in the amount of five million Naira, which the family eventually paid. Ahmed claimed that after they paid the ransom, the kidnappers killed his father rather than releasing him and instead set his brother free, who then informed them of his father's death and that he had been killed.

Alhaji Ishaq Karofi, who had been Late Kanbarawa's previous boss, exhibited shock when he was informed of the latter's passing after being contacted about the matter. He spoke highly of the deceased's character, describing him as a kind and modest individual.

Karofi stated that the deceased had worked for him for almost 20 years, during which time he served as Secretary of the Katsina State Tenders Board and State Executive Council.

As a result, he prayed to God, asking him to comfort the family.
