CBN Receives Support From Buhari

Distancing himself from his Finance Minister, Buhari said, "CBN has my endorsement."

 

On Sunday, Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari expressed his approval of the CBN's plan to replace high-value Naira notes with new designs. In a statement that was released by President Buhari's Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, the president said that he was certain that doing so would result in significant benefits for the country. The statement went on to say that President Buhari had, throughout the course of the interview, discussed a variety of topics, including food security, national security, and others.
