The Oppo Reno 8

Some eye catching details on the Oppo Reno 8

The Oppo Reno8 5G is the most recent flagship smartphone to be released by Oppo as part of the company's premium Reno series. Two aspects of the Reno series have become particularly well-known: the camera and the design. Both of these categories are easily won by the Oppo Reno8 5G. The company has positioned the color-changing design as a selling point alongside the lightning-fast charging capability and the triple camera configuration. The functionality is excellent, the charging time is short, and the battery life is sufficient. This, along with its gorgeous design, great speakers, and opulent flat display, makes it quite the desirable handheld device. Let's take a look at a few of the characteristics, shall we?

DESIGN

Over the course of the past few years, the Oppo Reno Series has become well-known for having a design that is immediately noticeable. In point of fact, one of the selling points that the company advertises is its attractive design, and it has been one of the selling points for quite some time. The Oppo Reno 8 Series has a visually arresting design, just like its predecessor, the Oppo Reno 5G smartphones, and comes in a variety of vibrant color options. The Oppo Reno 8 is an impressive flagship smartphone that lives up to its billing thanks to its daring design, high-caliber build, and use of premium materials. Both a shimmer gold and a shimmer black colorway are available for the Oppo Reno 8.

DISPLAY

Oppo Reno 8 has a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with an FHD resolution. The display has good colors and contrast and allows you to choose between Natural and Vivid presets. The content viewing is good as the blacks were deep and the images were detailed. The 90Hz refresh rate makes the display smooth and allows better gaming. The device comes with a bottom-firing speaker that is just about average. The speaker is positioned at the bottom of the device and produces sound that is on par with other similar models. The maximum brightness is also acceptable, and the video color boost feature might be useful, but it uses more battery than the other settings.

CAMERA

The rear of the Oppo Reno 8 5G has not one, not two, but three cameras. The arrangement consists of a primary camera with a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 sensor, an ultrawide camera with 8-megapixels, and a macro camera with 2-megapixels. Photos shot during the daylight have more detail and a wider range of tonal values than those taken at night. When zoomed in, the photos had muted tones, and the words could be read without difficulty. Because it performs a respectable job of detecting edges and filling in details, the gadget has been given the moniker "Portrait Expert," and it lives up to this moniker. The bokeh effect will cause portraits taken at night to have a little softer look, so you may take those.
The 8MP ultrawide camera captures images with richer tones in the photos it takes. The borders have a distorted appearance, and the color is not uniform across the image, which is also a problem. The 2 megapixel macro camera provides photographs that are just about passable, although they are lacking in depth. Photos taken with the Oppo Reno 5G in low light come out quite well. As soon as it detects that there is not a lot of light, the gadget switches to night mode, which makes the visuals brighter. A 32-megapixel front-facing camera can be found on the Oppo Reno 5G. The selfie camera captures vivid and detailed images in their natural settings. When we took our selfies against the light, the backdrop was overexposed, but when we took our selfies facing the camera, the exposure was correct. Even in low light, it was possible to take crisp and functional selfies.

PERFORMANCE AND SOFTWARE

Because it was powered by a Mediatek Dimensity 1300 SoC, the performance was very satisfying. The phone is certainly not inferior to its rivals and is capable of holding its own against them all. Because it has 8 gigabytes of random access memory (RAM), it can load multiple apps quickly and let them run in the background without crashing or slowing down. The storage capacity of 128 gigabytes gives you plenty of room to store anything you need to. If necessary, the amount of RAM can be increased all the way up to 5 GB. The speed and dependability of the face unlock and fingerprint scanning are identically high. However, we did feel that the location of the fingerprint scanner was a little bit on the low side, as you really do have to reach quite a long way down in order to access it. In terms of gaming, it is capable of running at a high frame rate while maintaining high-quality graphics. Even after a long session of gaming, there is not much of a decrease in the battery life, and the device does not become overheated at any point in time. It provides a user experience that is fluid and smooth, and it continues to be one of the best custom skins available for Android at the moment. The smartphone utilizes Android 12 along with ColorOS 12.1, and the overall quality of the software experience is below par.

This is not only one of the most aesthetically pleasing phones in its class but also has a high-end feel when being used. It has a user interface that is now one of the best that you can get on an Android device, in addition to having great performance and excellent cameras. There are a few nitpicks, such as the absence of haptics and stereo speakers, but for the vast majority of people, these probably won't be a problem. But considering the price of the phone and the fact that it bears the premium 'Reno' branding, it ought to have been included.

The Oppo Reno 8 has a lot going for it, including an impressive design, an excellent display, a quick charging system, and an outstanding front-facing camera. If you like the way it looks and the features it has, buying it would be a good decision.
