Erik ten Hag has already given Man United transfer verdict on Marcus Rashford

Manchester United appears to be on the verge of appointing Ajax manager Erik ten Hag as their next permanent boss.

Several publications have identified the highly-rated Dutchman as the favourite to replace interim coach Ralf Rangnick as Man Utd's next manager. An official announcement is expected to be made in the near future (ESPN).

Fans have, however, been left wondering whether they will see an equally high-profile exit while United prepares for one high-profile entrance.
Marcus Rashford, the Manchester United forward, is thought to be dissatisfied with his situation under Rangnick, and after scoring only five goals this season, he has fallen out of favor with the German coach.
Rashford, on the other hand, may have been given reason to be optimistic after a recent story from The Sun said that ten Hag has already informed United that he considers the English attacker to be a key component of the club and would not seek to trade him.

According to the site, they talked with a source who stated: "Marcus is having a tremendously difficult season — especially in the games where he has not started despite the fact that United did not have a substitute striker available."

As a result of this happening several times, he is apprehensive that Ralf Rangnick just does not care for him."

"However, the club has informed him that the candidates for the manager's position have assured them that he is a valuable asset to the club — and that he will continue to play an important role in their efforts to rebuild."

"For the time being, Marcus is just keeping his cool."
Would it be preferable for Manchester United supporters if Rashford left the club?
There is no disputing that Rashford is a phenomenal talent when he is on form – he is swift, powerful, and extremely skilled – but his recent deterioration in form is a major cause for concern.
This summer has undoubtedly seemed like a watershed moment in the Englishman's career, as he has struggled to find his best position and has consistently delivered below-par performances.

Rashford is one of United's most marketable players, and the club will be well aware of this from a commercial standpoint. On top of that, he is a homegrown star who is beloved by big segments of the club's fan base.

Even while many supporters will be impatient for the attacker to return to his best form, they will equally understand that patience, along with a supportive arm around him, is required.

The Manchester United supporters are not known for turning their backs on players, so expect to see the number 10 receive more support than ever in the coming months.
