The Rationale Behind The Spread Of Plastic Surgery

Plastic surgery is very popular among many people these days and it applies to both genders. This is a brief analysis of the rationale behind the spread of plastic surgery.

Plastic surgery and cosmetic surgery has become very popular these days among all age groups and genders. In the past, when plastic surgery became well known, it was mostly popular among women but these days, men also go under the knife.

There are several advantages of plastic and cosmetic surgery but like most things, it comes with disadvantages. A lot of people go under the knife for many reasons which include;

1 Health- This happens when a person undergoes plastic surgery in order to correct a defect that is affecting their health. For example, if a person's nasal structure is built in a way that he or she finds it difficult to breathe properly, a nasal reconstruction surgery procedure can be done to rectify the issue.

2 Body insecurity: If someone is insecure about his or her body type, surgery can be done to modify the person's body in a way that he or she wants.
3 Facial reconstruction: This is one of the most popular plastic surgery procedures in the world now. A lot of people go for face lifts, lip plumping, eye extensions and a host of others.

Despite the fact that there are a lot of advantages to plastic surgery procedures, there are some disadvantages to it. Some people actually die during or after plastic surgery procedures. This is sometimes caused by the negligence of doctors or the patients themselves after surgery. Also, some people end up looking deformed after their surgery goes wrong and this makes them live with a stigma for their entire lives unless they are lucky enough to get a good doctor that can correct it.

Even though there are downsides to getting plastic surgery done, a lot of people still go under the knife each day. The society has made a lot of people, especially women feel pressured to look a certain way so they end up going under the knife to fit into stereotypes. A lot of women want to have plumper lips, a tiny waist, a big bust and butt. Celebrities like Kim Kardashian have influenced the beauty industry with their body types. There are a good number of women who have gone under the knife in order to look like Kim Kardashian.

One thing that people should keep in mind when getting surgery done is the fact that it should be done without exterior influence. You should get under the knife because you want to look and feel good. Most times, these influences that make us want to get surgery stem from trends that will still pass away. You can't keep up with surgery trends because your body isn't a clothing item that can be easily swapped.
