On Tuesday night, Bayern Munich will host Barcelona in a Champions League matchup between two of the greatest clubs in European football.

Bayern started off Group F with a 2-0 win against Inter Milan on the opening Wednesday of the 2022-23 season, while Barcelona defeated Viktoria Plzen 5-1 at Camp Nou.
Bayern were knocked out of the Champions League by Villarreal in a shocking early round last season, but they have won the tournament six times in the past. Their most recent title came in 2019-20, when they defeated Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 in the final.
The defending Bundesliga champions are once again among the favorites to win the tournament. They got off to a great start in Group C last week, beating Inter 2-0 thanks to goals from Leroy Sane and Danilo D'Ambrosio's own goal.

Despite this, Bayern have not won a Bundesliga game since August 21. They have drawn their previous three matches against Borussia Monchengladbach, Union Berlin, and Stuttgart.

The German powerhouses are not yet in full flow early in the season. Julian Nagelsmann's team twice led against Stuttgart on Saturday, but a late penalty from Serhou Guirassy resulted in a 2-2 tie.

Der FCB has won the past four meetings with Barcelona, including 3-0 victories at home and 3-0 victories on the road in the group stages of the 2021-22 tournament. This streak dates back to the second leg of their semi-final in the 2014-15 season.
