If you wish to have more traffic from Google to your business it is important to do some keyword research in order to have an idea of what people are looking for.

With Google's free keyword tool, it's easy to find relevant search terms. Google Keyword Tool (formerly the Google Keyword Tool) will help you get the most of traffic to your business.

Since Google got rid of the ability to monitor specific monthly search counts, the Google Keyword Planner has received a bad rap. They used to show a much more specific range, but now they only show a generic one. AdWords campaigns are required in order to recover these. This isn't free.

You may encounter the following problem while trying to access the tool:

But I can tell you, AdWords ads are not required to use Google Keyword Panner tool. Jumping through a few hoops is all you need to do.

Start by clicking here.

Once that opens, click "Go to Keyword Planner," as shown below.

Note that you may be required to type in your password again, please do so to continue.

The next screen that displays will ask "What's your advertising goal" with three options in a box, ignore that. Instead choose "Create an account without a campaign," as shown below.

The next screen that opens, either of the options that shows and click "Submit," as shown below.

With the "Congrats!..." Showing you have successfully created a Google Keyword Planner account, click "Explore your account."

Next, click the tools link that highlight with the mouse, as shown below and select "Keword planner."

Go ahead and explore all you want with the tool to move ahead in business with the right keywords.
