'I have a clear idea for Neymar' - New PSG boss Galtier calms down transfer talk for Brazilian star

The world's most expensive player has been strongly linked with a summer move, but could now be handed a fresh start at Parc des Princes

The most expensive player in the world has been heavily linked to a summer transfer, but Parc des Princes may potentially provide him with a new start.

Christophe Galtier, the club's new head coach, has said that he wants Neymar to remain at Paris Saint-Germain and that he has a "very clear notion" of how to get the most out of the Brazilian superstar.

After Mauricio Pochettino was fired on Tuesday morning, former Lille manager Galtier took over as manager at Parc des Princes.
Galtier claims that Neymar, 30, will be crucial to his plans despite the fact that the Argentine paid the ultimate price for PSG's most recent Champions League defeat, which also triggered new rumors about the Brazilian's future at the club.

Neymar will remain at PSG, according to Galtier
Neymar has reportedly failed to live up to his world-record purchase price of €222 million (£191 million/$228 million) since joining PSG from Barcelona in 2017. According to GOAL, PSG is willing to let him leave if they get an appropriate offer during the current transfer window.

Neymar has been linked to a future return to Camp Nou, and clubs from the Premier League Chelsea, Manchester United, and Newcastle are said to be interested in signing him. However, Galtier doesn't want to see such a gifted player leave the club.

"What coach wouldn't want a player of Neymar's caliber on his team? We must create harmony throughout the squad "During his first news conference, the Frenchman remarked.

"I know exactly what I need and want from him. Though I haven't yet met him, I want him to remain with us."

What has Galtier said about Mbappe?

Galtier also offered his opinion on Kylian Mbappe's choice to sign a new, three-year deal at Parc des Princes rather than go to Real Madrid.

The new PSG manager is excited about the opportunity to work with the World Cup champion but does not want him to take on too much because of his celebrity status in Paris.

"As a Frenchman, I'm thrilled that he's remaining in France because it benefits PSG and our league. I haven't spoken to him at all, Galtier stated.
"I am aware of Kylian's expectations for the group. We are aware of what he offers the team. We shouldn't give him the full weight of the outcome.

"I don't want to put more pressure on him because he is a young player."
