Man City open to selling £57m star this summer with Premier League club eyeing move.

Man City are planning to accept any suitable offer for Aymeric Laporte this summer with Aston Villa one club looking to sign the defender during the upcoming transfer window.

Man City will reportedly take any reasonable offer for defender Aymeric Laporte this summer, with Aston Villa among the clubs interested in acquiring Laporte's services.

The 29-year-old has slid on Pep Guardiola's depth chart at the Etihad this season and will be expendable should the Manchester club sign a world-class defender in the offseason.

Football Insider reports that Laporte will be released if the Premier League winners sign Josko Gvardiol from RB Leipzig during the forthcoming transfer window.

With two years left on his current contract, the Spain international should be available for a fair price if City wants to sign him.

Laporte joined Man City from Athletic Club in 2018 for a reported £57 million. The 29-year-old has seen less playing time this season than the likes of Ruben Dias, Nathan Ake, and Manuel Akanji, while John Stones has been deployed as a midfielder and Kyle Walker has been inserted into a back three.

By 90min, Aston Villa had been mentioned as a possible destination for the defender, who is a Spain international, but no moves had been made to acquire the star.
