‘Arrest Peter Obi, Others If They Oppose Tinubu’s Inauguration,’ LP Faction Informs Security Agents

On Friday, a section of the Labour Party led by suspended acting the country's chairman Lamidi Apapa asked security authorities to arrest everyone, including the party's presidential candidate, who advocates for an interim government in the country.

Abayomi Arabambi, the faction's National Publicity Secretary, made the announcement in an interview with journalists in Abuja.

He was responding to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court's decision to take jurisdiction in the complaint lodged by certain party members against the LP national chairman, Julius Abure.

He directed security personnel to arrest anyone trying to disrupt the swearing-in of President-elect Bola Tinubu on May 29, regardless of their social standing.

Arabambi went on to say that if the LP legal team, at the presidential election petition  in Abuja didn't succeed to meet Apapa in his position as acting national chairman and advise him on the legal processes within 48 hours, the faction would choose fresh attorneys to take over the litigation."Anyone who calls for interim governance, including Peter Obi, should be arrested," he stated. We are calling on the IGP to arrest him, as well as everyone else who is pushing for it, since no one is above the law.

"You cannot sink Nigeria into war then claim the desire to rule the nation." "We in the Labour Party are declaring a capital 'No' to that. We don't comprehend Peter Obi's call that the President-elect, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, shouldn't be sworn in on May 29. As far as we are involved, the LP came third in that election, behind the PDP.

"The irony is that the LP isn't opposing the PDP, which came in second place , which means we are saying that the votes allotted to the PDP are correct in the eyes of the law." whereas PDP that Peter Obi is protecting is disputing the legitimacy of the poll that elected Bola Ahmed Tinubu as President-elect.

"The People's Democratic Party (PDP) claims to have received the most lawful majority of ballots in the election, while the LP says, 'No,' the votes you have, we aren't disputing because they are consistent with our beliefs." That is why Peter Obi and Julius Abure purposefully omitted the PDP following their antics and are now disputing the APC's results.

"How would he not hide his face in disgrace for excluding the PDP?" Why didn't he dispute the second person, but only the first?"
