Man United's Sevilla test didn't bother Erik Ten Hag.

The appointment of Erik Ten Hag at Manchester United has offered much-needed stability after recent turmoil.

The Dutchman seems to be an honest broker who doesn't take nonsense lying down, as evidenced by his treatment of Cristiano Ronaldo, and it's no fluke that the Red Devils have one championship under their belt and a shot at two more.

United will need to win their upcoming Europa League matches, starting with Thursday's game against Sevilla at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, to earn the first of these.

In the first leg of their quarterfinal, the Andalusians came back from a two-goal deficit to tie the game when Marcel Sabitzer scored twice in the first half.

United must consequently start from scratch, but this does not worry ten Hag in the least.

According to the official Man United website, he said in his pregame news conference, "I think defensively we are good, we have the cleanest sheets in the Premier League so our organization all over the pitch is quite good."

While I agree that we could have scored more goals overall this season, I'm feeling optimistic about our chances seeing as how we've scored in each of our most recent games and have everyone on the same page.

So, "I think we can do that tomorrow, too."

A confident demeanor like that inspires confidence in one's teammates, which in turn motivates them to perform well on the field.

There hasn't been a manager at Old Trafford with such confidence in his or her abilities and those of his or her players since Sir Alex Ferguson.

Even if United is eliminated from the tournament, it won't be for lack of trying.
