Man City's interest in acquiring a certain in-form Chelsea player has been ongoing, according to a report from the

Fabrizio Romano claims in his exclusive Daily Briefing for CaughtOffside that Manchester City have been monitoring Chelsea left back Ben Chilwell for close to a year.

It's not surprising that City like the Blues' star, especially since he's been one of the driving forces behind Graham Potter's team's recent turnaround.

Chilwell appears to be a good fit for City, who could use an upgrade at center back after letting Joao Cancelo leave on loan to Bayern Munich in the winter.

The Portuguese international was a standout for Pep Guardiola's team, but his future is uncertain. Chilwell, on the other hand, could be a suitable replacement forward for what he contributes at this point.

There have been rumors that Manchester City is interested in signing Ben Chilwell.

The Blues have no interest in trading Chilwell to a top-six rival, and according to Romano, Chilwell is now giving his undivided attention to Chelsea.

According to Romano, "Man City was interested in Ben Chilwell as early as last year; however, I've been told that Chelsea has not made any decision on fullbacks at this stage; and also Chilwell is doing very well, so he's 100% focused on Chelsea right now."
