Paulet recommends that anyone interested in applying for a Digital Nomad Visa from Spain first enter the country on a tourist visa and then submits their application and supporting materials. The applicant's legal stay in Spain can be extended by the authorities while their application is being processed, and it can be extended again once the application has been approved.

With the consulate charge not included, the total cost to apply for a Digital Nomad Visa in Spain is about €75. If the application is accepted, the applicant will have to pay an additional fee of about €15 to obtain the residency card.

It has been reported that the average processing period for a Digital Nomad Visa at an embassy or consulate is roughly two months.
