Technically speaking, industrial rubber is a natural polymer of Isoprene (usually cis-1,4-polyisoprene). It is hydrocarbon polymer occurring as milky latex in the sap of various plants and can also be made synthetically.

Silicone rubber is generally nonreactive, stable, and resistant to extreme environments and temperatures from − 55°C to 300°C (− 67 to 572°F) while still maintaining its useful properties.
